Kyung Hee reconfirmed its excellence in research as exemplified by notable research outcomes over the past five years. On June 14, the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) released its analysis of the Impact Factor (IF) of the Korean Citation Index (KCI) for the 2008-2009 year. Kyung Hee ranked second among the home universities of the top 1% of the most cited authors. The University ranked third among the home universities of the top 10% of the most cited authors. First place in both percentile categories was Seoul National University.

The NRF reviewed 174,470 papers included in the 2008-2009 KCI for this evaluation. The KCI is an informational service that provides academic and bibliographical information on papers in domestic journals recognized or under review for recognition by the NRF. The frequency of a paper’s citation is presented as an IF which is used to determine the paper’s quality. According to this evaluation, Kyung Hee University had 312 papers in the top 1% and 2,533 papers in the top 10% most cited papers.
