The Kyung Hee University Basketball Team claimed victory in the MBC National College Basketball Tournament for the second consecutive year.

The Kyung Hee University Basketball Team claimed victory in the MBC National College Basketball Tournament for the second consecutive year. Kyung Hee defeated Korea University in the final game of the tournament on July 20 at the Yeongju National Sports Center in Gyeongbuk Province. Kyung Min Doo (’10, Department of Coaching) recorded 22 points and 9 rebounds including four three-pointers to be selected as the tournament MVP.

Kyung Hee took the lead early in the final game with its signature defensive attack. Jong Kyu Kim (’10, Department of Coaching) converted a two-hand slam dunk six seconds after tip-off to record the first score of the game. Kyung Hee took the lead with nine consecutive points by Kyung Min Doo and Byeong Jun Bae (’09, Department of Coaching). However, Korea University came back in the second quarter to take over the lead. In the third quarter, Kyung Hee fell behind as much as 10 points but rallied back behind Kyung Min Doo who converted three three-pointers and a lay-up for 11 points in the end of the quarter and throughout the fourth quarter to defeat Korea University with a score of 60:58.
