Kyung Hee Ranked 11th in the World in Hospitality & Tourism Management

In ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2017, Kyung Hee University is ranked 11th in the world in the subject of Hospitality & Tourism Management

In the subject of Energy Science & Engineering, Kyung Hee is ranked 76-100th, and in the subjects of Food Science & Technology, Telecommunication Engineering, Nanoscience & Nanotechnology, Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Dentistry & Oral Sciences, Kyung Hee marked 101-150th, and in the subject of Agricultural Sciences, 151-200th in the world.

Instead of relying on subjective criteria such as reputation among grading institutions, the ARWU uses strictly quantifiable academic achievements as the basis for their evaluative data.

Top class in the world in the subject of Hospitality & Tourism Management
In the subject of Hospitality & Tourism Management, Kyung Hee scored 91.9 and 81.3 points, respectively, for the criteria of International Collaboration (IC) and Category Normalized Citation Impact (CNCI), based on academic papers published between 2011 and 2015. In particular, the score for IC was the highest among top 100 universities in the category. In this year’s rankings, Kyung Hee made the top 500 rankings in the world in 24 subjects out of 52 total categories.

ShanghaiRanking's Academic Ranking of World Universities is managed by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy, an independent post-secondary education evaluation institution that surveys and evaluates over 4,000 post-secondary institutions in the world.


51st in THE Asia-Pacific University Rankings 2017

Kyung Hee University is committed to supporting both the diversity of studies and the academic excellence, as shown in the individual support programs in respect to one’s major and subject category, specifically tailored to the needs of each student. Such efforts have been translated into the steady improvement of Kyung Hee’s academic performance and the upward momentum in international academic university rankings. In the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia-Pacific University Rankings 2017 published on July 5, 2017, Kyung Hee marked 51st in the Asia-Pacific region and the 4th in Korea among private universities after Sungkyunkwan, Korea, and Yonsei universities.


In the THE Asia University Rankings 2017 published on March 16, 2017, Kyung Hee jumped 6 spots to reach the top 30 universities bracket in Asia for the first time (4th in Korea among private universities). The University is also ranked first in the nation in International Outlook, and all academic performance indices showed a uniform and significant upswing in terms of both quality and quantity.
