Globalization Programs
The Global Studio Network (GSN) aims to cultivate practice-oriented intellectuals who can communicate, harmonize, and create with a comprehensive understanding of future scholarship industries and civilization. Global Studios will be set up and run at various hubs of academics, culture, and civilization throughout the world. These studios, located in core cities at the forefront of the world's education, research, and culture, will allow the world's scholars, students, and citizens to share top notch research, educational, and practical trends in real time via web broadcasts of important international conferences and lectures by eminent scholars.
In 2009, Kyung Hee University completed a GSN studio and video conferencing room, and installed a video lecture system at the College of Engineering on the Global Campus. It also launched the GSN homepage (www.gsn.ac.kr) and is planning to run an Internet broadcasting service. Training for a multimedia intern team, called Global Video Frontier, and a translation and interpretation intern team is underway.
When the GSN system is in full force, scholars, students, professionals, activists, entrepreneurs, artists, and the public will be able to exchange and share quality lecture contents in real time. Through the GSN, scholars in remote areas of the world will be able to conduct cooperative research and video seminars. Users will also be able to carry out global service projects via the Internet. Studios will be set up throughout the world until 2012. By 2015, the GSN is expected to take root as a global academic community with the voluntary participation of universities and institutions in Korea and abroad.
