In an interview with The Korea Times, Kyung Hee University (KHU) President Kim Jin-sang emphasized that Korea's strong educational foundation laid the groundwork for the global rise of K-culture, and it is now time for "K-education" and "K-research" to gain equal international recognition. Enrolling the second-largest number of international students among Korean universities, Kyung Hee University continues to strengthen its role as a bridge linking Korea to the world through diverse global academic programs—such as a joint degree program with Russia's HSE University, the hybrid 'Global Virtual School,' and comprehensive Korean language, career, and settlement support for international students.

President Kim also highlighted key structural challenges hindering the global competitiveness of Korean higher education, including language barriers, international faculty recruitment, and tight financial limits. He stressed the need to transition from simple inbound and outbound exchanges to deep scholarly collaboration, such as enabling upperclassmen to participate in joint research with international peers. Reaffirming that Korea's educational and research quality already meets world-class standards, he expressed KHU's commitment to making these strengths visible to the world.
